Vermont
One of the most beautiful states in the Northeast has everything to offer from hiking to backpacking to multi-pitch rock climbing to some of the best ice climbing in the world! Vermont has amazing rock climbing from Smuggler’s Notch to the Northeast Kingdom. The views are like none other and the beauty comes from seeing the same views in every season from summer to winter. Enjoy some climbing and nature before heading to the lakes or waterfalls that Vermont has to offer!
Ice Climbing
Vermont also boasts some of the best ice climbing in the world. Smuggler’s Notch is one of the venues and has everything from single pitch ice to multi-pitch steep ice lines. Lake Willoughby is considered a world class destination and is considered to have the steepest collection of ice in the lower 48. The ice climbing here is more advanced and has some amazing exposure and lines all above the famed Lake Willoughby.
New Hampshire
Also known as the Granite State has a plethora of options to offer for anyone. From sport climbing in Rumney to alpine routes on Cannon Mountain and Mount Washington, there’s options for every day. Cannon Mountain is NH’s big wall and offers 700+ feet of climbing and is home to some classics such as Whitney Gilman Ridge and Moby Grape.
North Conway
is one the most popular climbing destinations in New England with hundreds of easily accessible routes in the vicinity. Two of the best cliffs are Cathedral Ledge and Whitehorse Ledge, and are located just minutes from the city center! The super solid granite, multi-pitch routes as long as 1000 feet, and abundance of stunning vistas make this area perfect for any rock climbing enthusiast no matter the skill level!
Winter
In the winter, the mountains are covered in snow and the views get even better! There’s no better experience than ice climbing in the winter. The serenity of being in nature and trying something new and exciting makes ice climbing our preferred sport. Mt. Willard, Frankenstein Cliff, and Mount Washington offer so much ice for all ability levels. If ice isn’t your thing, you can go attempt a winter Mount Washington ascent! Mount Washington held the world record for highest wind speed ever recorded at 234 mph! Mountaineering is another great option to get familiar with techniques while enjoying some beautiful views.
Wall Street is the famous road where there’s mostly single-pitch climbing from 5.4-5.12 and is a mix of crack climbing and slab but mostly crack climbing. It’s a great place to spend the day and dial in the technique before going to climb something else in the area. It’s also one of the coolest places you’ll get to rock climb. It’s legit roadside cragging! You’ll understand what we mean when you try it! All located just 15-20 minutes from the town of Moab.
Moab
Moab is by far our favorite place to climb and guide. The climbing, the rock, the vibes, everything is just so good! Sandstone is,in our opinion, the best rock type there is! We think it’s better than granite, but don’t tell anyone from NH! Oh and we haven’t even talked about the views...

If Castleton isn’t your thing, Moab has plenty of options! Ancient Art on the Fisher Towers is another amazing climb and is an experience that you definitely have to experience once in your life! It’s 4 pitches and it puts you on probably the wildest summit we think you’ll ever step foot on. The summit block is probably the size of a small table and is just unreal!
Castleton Tower
Another great option while in Moab. It’s a 350 foot tower that’s climbed in 4 pitches to the top via North Chimney which puts you on a summit that has 360° views. After soaking in the view and good vibes, you’ll do 2 exciting long rappels that take you back to your bags.

We could go on and on about Moab but we think it’s probably best if you just experience it!
Looking Glass
A great introduction to multi pitching and is a great stepping stone to work up to some of the other options in the area. After 3 pitches of climbing, you’ll soak in the views before doing a free hanging rappel through the arch back to the base! An experience that you won’t want to miss!

Massachusetts
One of the original 13 colonies, Massachusetts is also rich in history in their climbing. Mass has a bunch of smaller areas and is mostly single pitch climbing with a few multi-pitches here and there. Crow Hill offers a lot of great trad climbing as well as top-rope options. Farley Ledge is another great location and has everything from sport routes to trad routes from 5.4-5.12. Massachusetts climbs are by request only. We ask that you give us at least 5 days prior to your intended day or days to climb. This helps with logistics and permits. Thank you for understanding!
